CAPITOL HILL MANNEQUINS (IN THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT)

I live in Eastlake, which runs up the east side of Lake Union and is centrally located if you’re a runner with a camera. I have access by foot to Fremont, Queen Anne (upper and lower), downtown, Montlake, and Capitol Hill. During any given month, each of these areas changes up their windows to match the season. The Halloween windows to watch are at Champion’s costume shop on lower Queen Anne (though their Christmas display is often good, too); Christmas is unequivocally ruled by Nordstrom’s downtown; and if you have a penchant for the offbeat, Red Light on Capitol Hill has some of the funniest, most creative windows in town. I generally shoot at night, to avoid reflections, and also to capture the mood of each display.
